What is puzzling me is why it is referred to as the Royal Society of Great Britain. It's the The Royal Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge, commonly referred to as the Royal Society. (To disambiguate from the Royal Societies of Edinburgh and New Zealand one would normally refer to it as the Royal Society of London.)
