In an earlier news article the Utah department of agriculture acknowledged that poultry flocks were confirmed to have the dairy H5N1, and they acknowledged that poultry flocks have been infected by nearby dairies in other states.  They have implemented bulk tank milk testing at dairies in affected counties.  This is something that Washington and Oregon (also with dairy virus infected poultry flocks) do not seem to want to do in order to identify infected dairy herds.
This document also includes the Asian H5N1 human symptoms.  Unlike the CDC they are not denying that the Missouri patient had H5N1 influenza symptoms.
QUOTE:
People who have prolonged, regular exposure to poultry or dairy cattle and exhibit symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, eye irritation, headaches, runny nose, body aches, diarrhea, or vomiting should contact their local health department.
END QUOTE:
For some reason the CDC has consistently denied that the Missouri patient had symptoms consistent with H5N1 infection, and have even claimed that the patient did not have the usual symptoms associated with influenza.  Their statement is true, but it is still tragically lame, dishonest and misleading to not acknowledge that the patient had symptoms that other humans have exhibited when infected with H5N1 in Asia.  The Utah officials are not doing this.  That quote lists the symptoms that the review paper that I previously put up had for H5N1 infection in Europe and Asia.  The CDC has never done this, and committed the lie of omission when they would not acknowledge that the Missouri patient had symptoms consistent with H5N1 avian influenza infection in Asia.  The Utah officials know better.
Washington and Oregon should start bulk milk tank testing too.
