I posted this a couple of days ago but it was in an old thread that
might not catch people's attention so here it is again. Although GG
has stopped accepting new content, it still allows searching of
content prior to 22 Feb 2024 and you can get a link to any specific
post by clicking on the 3 dots beside it.

I have also put up a short YouTube video (just under 3 mins) showing a
worked example.

Thanks. I almost never have a need or desire to dig up old
posts, but it's nice to know it's possible, at least for
now.

Most of the posts to GG have a fairly short shelf life. Ones from a few
years ago are pretty smelly.
I'm not sure what you mean by that, I've always found it highly
accurate and reliable as an *archive*.
GG was certainly plagued by spammers and trolls but that was really
just a nuisance for those who depended on it for Usenet rather than a
newsreader though there was also a knock on effect on unmoderated
groups, with many destroyed by the spam and trolling. Not really a big
problem on moderated groups like TO - thanks continue to DIG for his
good work on this.
