QUOTE:
The future of intelligent design (ID) is characterized by continued advocacy for its inclusion in science education, while simultaneously facing ongoing scientific and legal challenges. While ID proponents argue for the need to teach the "controversy" surrounding evolution, and suggest that ID offers an alternative explanation for the origin of life, scientific consensus overwhelmingly supports evolution.
Elaboration:
Continued Advocacy:
ID advocates continue to push for the inclusion of ID alongside evolution in science education, arguing that it represents a legitimate alternative explanation for the origin of life.
Scientific Challenges:
The scientific community overwhelmingly rejects ID as a scientific explanation, citing a lack of empirical evidence and adherence to the principles of scientific methodology.
Legal Challenges:
The legal system has largely sided with scientific consensus, ruling against the teaching of ID in public school science classes.
Ongoing Debates:
Despite legal setbacks, ID advocates continue to engage in public debates and legal challenges, aiming to influence science education policies and public opinion.
Shift in Strategy:
While some ID proponents initially focused on teaching ID as an alternative to evolution, more recent efforts emphasize attacking evolution itself, often under the guise of "academic freedom" or "critical analysis".
Religious Influence:
The influence of religious beliefs on the ID movement is undeniable, with proponents frequently drawing on theological arguments to support their claims.
Public Opinion:
Public opinion on ID remains divided, with some individuals and groups supporting the idea while others strongly oppose it.
Potential for Future Evolution:
While the future of ID as a mainstream scientific theory is uncertain, its continued advocacy and the ongoing debates surrounding science education suggest that it will remain a topic of interest and controversy for the foreseeable future.
END QUOTE:
Google notes that using ID as bait for the Teach ID scam is still going on. West Virginia 2024 and North Dakota 2025 indicate that there are still creationist rubes willing to take the bait.
What Google misses is the fact that the ID perps at the Discovery Institute have been the major force keeping ID out of the public schools since they started running the bait and switch scam back in 2002. Even though the ID perps keep telling the rubes that ID can be taught in the public schools the bait and switch has gone down 100% of the time, and no rubes ever get any ID to teach.
It is sad because all creationists should understand, at this late date, that the bait and switch has gone down in 100% of the cases where creationist rubes have wanted to teach the creation science of ID. No one is ever going to get any ID science to teach in the public schools from the ID perps at the Discovery Institute. All any creationist rubes have ever gotten from the ID perps is an obfuscation and denial switch scam that the ID perps tell them has nothing to do with ID nor creationism.
