I asked for Christian reviews for The Theory of Everything and got this response from Google Gemini:
QUOTE:
The Story of Everything (2026) is a science-focused documentary exploring cosmology and molecular biology to argue for an intelligent Creator. Christian reviewers and faith-based audiences largely praise the film for bolstering belief, though some noted a lack of explicit theological focus.
Key Christian Perspectives & Reviews
Faith-Affirming Science: Christian critics appreciate the film's reliance on empirical science rather than traditional biblical apologetics to defend theism. Reviewers highlight arguments such as the Big Bang pointing to a definite beginning, the "fine-tuning" of the universe, and DNA as evidence of a "master programmer".
Evangelical Endorsements: Prominent Christian apologists like Lee Strobel champion the documentary, noting it provides young people with confidence in their faith and effectively challenges materialistic worldviews.
Desire for Deeper Scripture: Some conservative Christian reviewers noted the film leaves room for ambiguity. While appreciating the defense of an "intelligent designer," they pointed out that the documentary doesn't explicitly align with Genesis creation accounts or promote a specific religion, focusing primarily on proving a Designer rather than Jesus Christ.
Audience Reception: On community platforms like IMDb Audience Reviews, Christian viewers praise the film as a beautiful, family-friendly exploration of science and religion, while Rotten Tomatoes Audience Reviews suggest it is a valuable antidote to secular/atheistic viewpoints often taught in universities.
For deeper analysis and specific commentaries on the film's arguments, you can read the breakdown on Answers in Genesis or the review published by Catholic World Report.

https://www.catholicworldreport.com/2026/05/02/the-story-of-everything-explores-ultimate-meaning-in-light-of-faith-science/Basically Christians, that want to be lied to about reality, are positive about the movie. Some that understood that they were being lied to about reality did not like the movie that much, and wanted the movie to more clearly lie to them about reality. None of the reviewers wanted to deal with the fact that the god supported by the movie was not the Biblical god.
I asked Google why no one was addressing the fact that the god identified by the movie was not the god described in the Bible, and Google acknowledged that this is relevant to any discussion of the movie, and claimed that the AIG review made that connection when they claimed that the movie did not deal with specific theology. Other reviews like the Catholic World Report review runs from this reality and wallows in the gap denial without dealing with the reality of a non Biblical god filling the gaps. Google acknowledged that the topics covered in The Story of Everything did not support the literal interpretation of the Bible and claimed that YEC would have the most difficulty with what was discussed in the movie.
Google was aware that the movie fooled the rubes by not dealing with how, the context that the Big Bang, fine tuning and origin of life, exist within this universe.
No Christians seem to be willing to acknowledge what the science really means.
Harran put up the Pope Francis quote acknowledging that the Bible could not be taken literally as a creation by 6 magic acts, and that he could believe in the god that created everything using the Big Bang. The movie should have made this very clear, but the ID perps made a movie for the people that wanted to be lied to about reality. MarkE and Sticks are such Christians.
Google claimed that the ID perp's obfuscation and denial about their gaps is likely a strategy. The ID perps want to first establish that some god might exist, and that they will have to deal with the theological implications of their god-of-the-gap arguments later. Google misses the fact that later has never arrived. The ID perps have been running the bait and switch on hapless creationist rubes for over 24 years. How are the ID perps going to address reality? All they have ever used ID for is as bait to sell the rubes a bunch of obfuscation and evolution denial stupidity (Wells' Icons of Evolution) that they claim has nothing to do with ID. They have never attempted to create an intelligent design hypothesis that is consistent with their Top Six god-of-the-gaps science denial arguments. Science can't explain the gaps, but what do the gaps tell us about the ID perp's designer?
The Big Bang happened over 13 billion years ago. There would have been some fine tuning of the physical constants before or during the Big Bang. Another round of fine tuning occurred with the creation of our solar system so that it could harbor life. It took over 8 billion years for the elements that our solar system is made of to be created by dying or colliding stars in the star poor region of our galaxy that our solar system formed in. Our sun and fellow planets would have formed out of this evolving stellar debris. It took over 8 billion years to produce the right mix of elements for the production of life on earth. Life on earth seems to have originated soon after there was liquid water, possibly around 4 billion years ago, and life has been evolving on this planet for billions of years. This is the reality that the movie should have presented, but it did not.
Ray claimed to be a Biblical literalist (he wasn't a standard Biblical literalist) and he would have called the god depicted in the movie a false god, and the people that believed that such a god existed would be considered to be atheists by Ray. Ray called theistic evolutionists atheists because they believed in a non Biblical god. Anyone that did not believe in Ray's god of the Bible was an atheist. What are the ID perps, and the creationists that want to be lied to by the ID perps?
