air traffic.. Ryanair flight 147Y, altitude 11575 meter, speed 733 km,
plus current GPS position.
Just an RTL-SDR USB stick as receiver.

Nice. I've got a RTL-SDR dongle and sometimes amuse myself looking at
what's coming and going from the airport. The Pi goes out to look up the
airline/flight info from the identifier?
It worked over the LAN, the matrix display driver Pi is connected
to the LAN , there are several RTL-SDR sticks in several Raspberries.
Dump 1090 I use are receiver plus some C code I wrote
raspberrypi: ~ # cat /usr/local/sbin_pi_95/temperature_to_matrix_display
This sends temperature to the matrix display, I use netcat and UDP here:
while [ 1 ] ; do cat /tmp/temperature | nice -n 19 netcat -u -q 1 192.168.178.71 1111 ; sleep 60; done
this for planes to xgpspc server:
#echo "Usage: send_planes_to_xgpspc device_number"
#echo "default device_number is 0"
if [ "$1" == "" ]
then
let device_number=0
else
device_number="$1"
fi
#echo "device_number=$device_number"
dump1090 --device-index $device_number --metric --interactive | \
grep -v -e ---- -e Flight | \
awk '// { printf "%s %s %sm %skm/h %s %s\n", $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6}' | \
tee /dev/stderr | \
netcat -u 192.168.178.73 1079
Bit of awk :-) and then netcat again
There is more to it...
:-)
