   JJ Astor was, at the time, the most wealthy American.
   He was famed for his up-class hotels, patronized by
   the rich and famous of the era.
   He died when the Titanic sank - but did not go down
   IN it, but floating on the surface instead.
   The pocket-watch is still in beautiful condition -
   but likely the gears are destroyed. Besides, nobody
   should ever change the time on the thing ... which
   would not be long after he went in the water.
