https://techxplore.com/news/2024-09-ai-tools-tesla.htmlTesla has produced several versions of its autopilot AI
tool, which has become better and better with every new
release. The tool is trained by its users. In other words,
by drivers that utilize the autopilot function.
It is now clear that some of these drivers have been
highly risk-tolerant techno-optimists.
. . .
So ... those who feel "tech is perfect" are most
likely to use AI tech - and it is THEIR experiences
that are incorporated into the AI's training. This
is a sneaky bias - and such biases often result in
ridiculous, or stupid, results.
Long back the US Mil designed a neural-network AI
to detect various kinds of military vehicles, tanks
and such. After a huge investment it was discovered
that all the training photos were taken on clear
sunny days. The AI did not detect the vehicles, but
the clear sunny day instead ......
