A collaborative team led by Dr. Ki-Seok An and Dr. Dong-Bum Seo
of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT),
along with Prof. Sangbaek Park's group at Chungnam National
University successfully enhanced the durability of AFASSBs by
applying a molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) sacrificial layer grown
via metal–organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) onto
stainless steel (SUS) current collectors.
. . .
So where was the USA/EU in this useful work ???
Probably marching in pro-Hamas riots ....
In any case, MoS2 has quickly evolved from a boring
industrial dry lubricant into an electronics
superstar. It's now even being used for next-gen
   transistors - heat-resistant - if there's a Venus
rover that's what it'll use. Can also handle high
currents - think power converters for PV farms.
MAY still have a can of the lubricant somewhere ...
dark grey dull-looking stuff. Who knew ?
