The last decade of Doctor Who needs to be delete from both
canon and existence. The same goes for Star Trek and Star Wars.
I see a common thread developing here in fandoms; some longtime
fans don't like the modern versions of television shows/movies
they liked as a child. This is actually quite normal. It is
called getting old... and we all know that nothing is as good as
it was when we were young.
Fortunately, Father Time has a cure for this ailment.
Sometimes it is simply the fan growing out of the franchise.
It is also often the new people making the more "modern" versions that make ridiculous ill-fitting changes because they think they know better than the person who had the actual creative talent to make the original. This doesn't just happen in TV and movies, but also happens in comic books and novels where there is a long running series taken over by new people. Plus these days there are the inevitable silly changes to appease the "Politically  Correct" fools.
One great example is the live-action (so-called) "Thunderbirds" movie. Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker in "Star Trek: The Next Generation") was given the job of making the movie, but he knew absolutely nothing about the original show, watched a couple of episodes, and then *thought* he knew it all ... which he obviously didn't, because the movie is absolute rubbish with all sort sof ridiculous idiocy in it.
The superhero franchises are another example. The original fairly simple style has become far darker and more violent, in both the comic books and the movies.
