 It is the name of the evil Emperor as seen in The Empire Strikes back and
The Return of the Jedi - we learn his names in the prequel trilogy, where
he has a public face as Senator Palpatine and is secretly also known as
Darth Sidious.

Ah! So one of the bit-players .... I mean early on, it was all about Luke, Darth Vada, Princess Leia and Han Solo, wasn't it??
