She had to deal with the receptionist who was playing hardball but she
eventually relented because there were extenuating circumstances. The
truth is that she did forget about the appointment and never called in
time to cancel but there were extenuating circumstances. She had had a
detached retina and had laser surgery for it and the after care involved
being face down 24/7 for 10 days. She would have been unable to assume
that legs up feet in the stirrups thing. Yes, she could have called but
she was so upset about the ordeal she was going through that she forgot
about the other appointment.
