Wow, that's lot of mail.

It is. But you need to keep in mind that the usage of TB/BB varies greatly, some people have two folders and 20 messages, others have mail back to 1999, 6000 folders and profiles with 20 GB or more. And the program also needs to work for the "non-light" users.
