I don't know what's wrong.  I would try to use strace to find out
which file xbigforth is trying to access.

In any case, if the interest is in MINOS, Bernd Paysan is now using
Gforth and MINOS2 <https://fossil.net2o.de/minos2/index> as the basis
for his net2o work:
