Indeed.  It is worth comparing with the anti-war protests in the US in the
early 1970s, which were themselves a consequence of Americans being able to
see the war up close on television.  Today the connection is far faster and
more direct.

Hasn't helped civilians in Yemen who have been getting killed for
longer, by the Saudis armed with US/UK-supplied weapons. I'm not
sure that social media has really made the popular western world
view any less selective than it was in the past.
