TIL: “Heavenbanning”

You know about “shadowbanning”, where some online forums isolate a
disruptive user by leaving their postings up but only visible to
themselves, not to anyone else, so they don’t realize they’ve been
banned?

The next step beyond that would be “heavenbanning”, where the isolated
user only gets automated responses from AI bots who agree with and
praise everything that they say ... while these responses, like the
user’s posts, remain completely invisible to everyone else.
