When you invoke Alexa on my Echo Show 5, the volume of whatever
is playing is dipped during the interaction. Afterwards it can
take 10 to 20 seconds for normal volume to resume.
However, if I whisper, then it is back to normal within a second.
Why?
It sounds like an auto volume equlization adjustment that is fooled by the
enviroment. I'd suggest moving the Echo to someplace less prone to sound
reflections on what it sends out. In other words try moving it away from
shelves or walls and see if that helps.
That's an interesting notion. Sadly, as it is on a bedside table,
the location options are somewhat limited, if I am still to see
the display.
