Yes, but it is completed and therefore fixed. The number of nines in 0.999... does not change when shifted by one step.

Seems you don't understand the problem with "completed infinity" that being infinite, it can't be actually fully understood by the finite.
Having linear order does not imply having an end, unless you can assume a finiteness.
