All the efforts pushing quantum gravity (Einstein's wet dream of a
unified theory) are in a horrible dead end.
General relativity has suffered one drawback after another in the last
20 years.
And related theories about the Universe's origin and behavior are being
abandoned by younger scientists. Only the elder remain supporting it in
lame forums.
Science is taking a radical departure from roads used for a century,
because legacy physics (till 2000) can't provide any answer at all.
For all means, physics is DEAD by now. The new fields are trying the
physics of the nano-world and the interesting fields related to
BIOPHYSICS.
It's called evolution (NVidia, neurophysics, statistical physics, etc.).
Nobody seriously cares about what happens beyond the Solar System. Most
of the research is about the "atmosphere" of our SS and analysis of the
Sun, which behavior is still unkown.
