Search Menu
From the search menu you can find text in the current message, search
messages in the selected groups for text, and find unread messages,
messages marked as interesting, or messages that match particular keywords
Search Messages (Shift+Ctrl+F)
Search the message base. You can search for messages using a number of
criteria. See the Searching for Messages section for details
Find in Message (Ctrl+F)
Search the current message bodies text part for the given string.
Find Message on Internet
Use an Internet search engine (Google by default) to search for the
selected message in its archive. See the Find Message on Internet
section for details
Find Next Unread Reply to Me (M)
Go to the next unread reply to one of your messages.
Find Next Unread Message in Thread I've Posted to (Ctrl+M)
Go to the next unread message in a thread you've posted to.
Find Next Unread Interesting Message (Shift+Ctrl+M)
Go to the next unread message marked as 'Interesting'
Find Next Interesting Message (Ctrl+N)
Go to the next Interesting message, whether it's been read or not.
Find Next Interesting Message in Another Thread (Shift+Ctrl+N)
Find the next interesting message, but not in the current thread.
Find Message with Any Keyword (Ctrl+K)
Find the next message containing any keyword
Find Message with Keyword n (Ctrl+Fn)
You can search for up to 8 keywords, and use Ctrl-F1 to Ctrl+F8 to
find matching messages.

Account Menu
The Account Menu lets you perform the following operations on the account
or accounts that are currently selected in the Subscribed Groups Tree.
You can also access these functions from the Subscribed Groups Tree's
right-click popup menu.
Expand All Accounts
Expand all the accounts in the Subscribed Groups Tree so that their
subscribed groups are visible.
You can expand all accounts automatically when you start XanaNews by
checking the Auto Expand Tree option.
Collapse All Accounts
Collapse all the accounts in the Subscribed Groups Tree so that only the
accounts, but not the individual subscribed groups are showing.
Show Newsgroup List
Shows the newsgroup list, where you can subscribe to, or unsubscribe from
newsgroups.
Refresh Group List
Reloads the list of available newsgroups from the server.
Add New Account
Set up a new server account
Remove Account
Remove the selected account(s) from your computer.
When you remove an account, its settings and all messages in all the
groups you subscribed to in that account are permanently removed.
Account Properties
Display the properties for the selected account.

Help Menu
The Help Menu allows you to select XanaNews' help options.
In addition to the Help Menu, XanaNews support context sensitive online
help. Press the F1 key, and the correct help page will be displayed -
depending on what area of XanaNews you are currently working in.

Display this help file.
Topic Search
Display this help file.
Help on Help
Display the standard help file that explains how to use online help in
Windows.
About
Show the About box, which gives information on the XanaNews version,
your computer's operating system, and shows the list of the generous
people who have made donations to me o support the XanaNews project.

The Toolbar
The Toolbar contains buttons to help you easily select common tasks, and
a 'Batch' list so you can quickly select a batch to run.
Retry/Cancel
The Button at the left of th toolbar is multifunction. When its red it
means 'cancel the current operation'. When its green, the current
operation has stalled. Press the button to retry it.
Get Messages
Opens the Get Messages form to allow you to get message headers, or full
messages from the currently selected group or groups. When an account is
selected, it performs the action on all groups in the account.
Back
Click the Back button to go to the previously selected message. It works
even if the previously selected message is in another group. XanaNews
maintains details of the previous 10 messages.
Forward
If the back button has been pressed, the Forward button goes turns green
If you click it, it reverses the 'back'. Otherwise it goes to the next
unread message.
Post a Message
Click the Post a Message button to post a new root message to the
currently selected account. If a group or groups are selected, the
message is posted to these groups - crossposting if there are more than
one. If no group is selected you will need to type in a group name once
the Post Message form is displayed.
Reply to Group
Click the Reply to Group button to reply to the currently selected
message using the Post Message form.
E-Mail a Message
Click E-Mail a message to send an E-Mail to the author of the currently
selected message.
Find Text in Message
Search the current message bodies text part for the given string.
Search for Text in Messages
Search the message base. You can search for messages using a number of
criteria. See the Searching for Messages section for details
Print Message
Print the selected message(s)
Quick Get Messages
Perform the default 'Get Messages' action on all groups in all accounts.
Add Message Author to Bozo Bin
Add the author of the currently selected message to the Bozo Bin
Run the Selected Batch
Select a batch from the drop-down list, then click the 'Run Selected
Batch' button to run it.

Groups Tree
The Subscribed Groups Tree
The Top Left pane of the workspace shows a tree of the accounts and groups
you subscribe to. In addition, at the top of the tree is the archived
Messages area.
Each account has a 'world' icon next to it, and corresponds to a news
server on the Internet. Expand the tree against a News Account to show the
groups you're subscribed to on that server. Accounts are shown in bold if
their subscribed groups have any unread messages. The number of unread
messages in each group is shown in brackets next to the group name.
The Subscribed Groups tree has its own right-click popup menu with options
to get messages, subscribed to new groups and accounts, etc.

The Message Tree
The Top Right pane of the workspace shows a tree of messages you've
downloaded.
Select messages in the tree to display the message body in the message pane.
By default, the tree is organized to show original messages at it's root
level. If someone has replied to a message, the reply appears as a child
branch. A message with replies comprises a Thread.
Alternatively you can configure it to show the messages in a simple list in
chronological order.
Sorting Messages
*You can sort the message tree temporariliy by clicking on the column
 headers.
 Click on the Subject column header to sort messages by subject, then
 date/time.
 Click on the Author column header to sort messages by author, then
 date/time.
 Click on the Date column header to sort by date/time.
 Click on the Lines column header to sort by the message size in lines,
 followed by the date/time.
 Click on the Number column to sort messages by message number.
 Click on the Flags column header to switch between Tree and List view.
*You can sort the message tree permanently by changing the Sorting &
 Threading options: Globally; per account or per newsgroup

Message Folder Popup Menu
Archived Message Folder Popup Menu
Right-click on an archived message folder. The following menu will be
displayed.
New Archived Message Folder
Rename Archived Message Folder
Delete Archived Message Folder
Empty Archived Message Folder
Re-Index Archived Message Folder
 The functions allow you to add, rename, delete, empty and re-index
 Archived Message Folders
Find Folder Message in Messagebase
Select the account & group where the selected archived message came from,
and select the message in the groups tree. This will only work if the
message has not been deleted from the message base.
Reload Selected Messages from Folder
Copy the selected messages from the folder to their original positions in
the message base. This is useful to show the tree structure of the messages.
Reload All Messages from Folder
Copy all the folder's messages into their original positions in the message
base.
