Right, and he could have seen the errors in your apparent misunderstanding of the words and accepted them, knowing that they were actually meaningless.

The ONLY simulation that Professor Sipser accepts as correct, is one that shows EXACTLY the behavior of the machine being simulated.

The question said NOTHING of the x86 language, so it doesn't matter.
Since you said "Halt Decider" he would be correct to asume you were talking about Turing Machines.
And, in Turing Machines, the only thing talked about as far as "Simulation" would be the UTM, and that ONLY does fully correct and complete simulations, so barring very clear mention otherwise, that is what is assumed.
I guess you are just admitting you fell for the trap.
