formulae that look nice on a paper (mv and mr^2Φ). But these formulae
ARE NOT the ones that you
have to use, when making a conversion between linear and angular
momentum concerning, for instance the whirls generated in air by objects
moving linearly that interact with the surrounding air.
Take the case of a jet moving linearly at constant speed. As it has been
observed for almost a century, in simulations in wind tunnels, the
linear motion (hence its momentum) generate ABSOLUTELY NON LINEAR SPIRAL
WHIRLS, which CAN'T BE MODELLED by the simple mathematics used in
physics for angular momentum.
There is NO MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSIONS for the many vortex generated, as
they involve TRANSCENDENT EQUATIONS fed with almost randomly varying
parameters. Physics IS NOT GOOD handling equations for RANDOM SPIRALS.
It only could be solved, and AS NUMERICAL APPROXIMATIONS ONLY.
So, based ONLY IN YOUR FAITH in these earthly laws, can you "swear" that
the total momentum computed in such scenario IS CONSERVED?
