The Gods and Goddesses are spirits composed of what is good and
principled. The best souls merge with Them.
The Asuras or Demons are spirits composed of passion and
unscrupulousness. Passionate and unscrupulous souls merge with Them.
Whether good or bad, souls return to the mortal condition in good or
deplorable states depending upon their good/bad account ledger. Not
necessarily in human form.
The Chinese converted to Buddhism because the last bit delighted them.
Satisfying to think that your buffalo could bec your tyrannical lord's
father. So, the Chinese bighats hated Buddhism, as should many esteemed
and wealthy crooks ruling roosts.
So if you are good you can enjoy in Heaven till your quota is done. If
you are very very bad you will be roasted in Hell but not for ever. You
can come back as say a roach and then work your way up the chain.
That!s the way universal consciousness works, Roachie. Believe it or
not.
